Mrs. Terry-Ann Dunkley

Terry-Ann Dunkley is a certified special education teacher who has been teaching English Language Arts (ELA) for over 25 years. Mrs. Dunkley got her undergraduate degree in psychology and special education from the University of Miami and her Master’s in Reading from Nova Southeastern University. After graduating with her bachelors, Mrs. Dunkley went straight into teaching special education. She spent the first seven years of her young career teaching at a prominent elementary school in the South Miami area. Mrs. Dunkley then transitioned into high school and continued to focus on educating special education students. Mrs. Dunkley dedicated the next 20 years not only teaching in the classroom; but also completing Individualized Education Plan (IEP), holding parent-teacher meetings, and conducting afterschool tutoring to ensure mastery for all students.
In order to keep her certification active, Mrs. Dunkley had to complete Professional Development (PD) workshops covering topics such as modify curriculum, IEP, differentiated instructions (DI) and best practices in the special education classrooms.
Mrs. Dunkley’s goal is to make evident that every child can learn and achieve success. She prides herself on being an educator of academics as well as social and emotional development; she uses every moment, every situation, every interaction as an opportunity to teach.
