ABOUT US
In the Name of Children (I.N.C.), created and directed by Dr. Stacey Brodie Walker, was originally established on the island of Jamaica. I.N.C. was developed to identify and prevent children and adolescents who were at-risk for delinquent behaviors, as well as provide interventions for those adolescents committing delinquent acts. In order to accomplish this, I.N.C. Jamaica partnered with schools, children homes and other organizations and provided individual, family and group therapy for children, adolescents and their families; conducted several workshops (at-risk children and anger management) and staged a Psych Camp for at-risk adolescents during the summer of 2012.
I.N.C. has been expanded to Florida and the purpose of the organization is to continue serving underserved children and adolescents. I.N.C. will provide psychological interventions/preventions (individual therapy, group therapy, psychological testing), psycho-educational interventions/preventions (conferences, seminar, workshops), vocational preparedness (resume writing, interviewing techniques, role-plays) and psychosocial interventions/preventions (parenting education, family support services, interpersonal and social skills training).
I.N.C will partner with schools, families, communities, juvenile justice and other organizations that serve children in order to achieve its mission of reducing delinquent behaviors and increasing pro-social behaviors in children and adolescents. I.N.C. will provide competent mental health and wellness services to enhance the lives and well-being of our clients and their families. I.N.C. pledges to provide professional, ethical and equal services to persons regardless of religious, ethnic, racial and/or sexual differences.
