Dr. Cynthia Somers
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Dr. Cynthia Somers is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 12 years of clinical experience. She completed her doctoral training in family therapy at Nova Southeastern University and has served as an outpatient therapist, program therapist at a behavioral school, clinical supervisor, and clinical director in community mental health. Of Caribbean descent, Dr. Somers treats a diverse population for mental health and behavioral concerns (including autism spectrum disorder) and relational issues such as domestic violence. She provides individual, couples, and family therapy and offers parent training for families with autistic members.
Combining experience in teaching, management, clinical work, and research, Dr. Somers uses an integrative approach tailored to each client. Her therapy is nonjudgmental and solution-oriented, focused on building skills, insight, and resilience.
